Microneedling therapy
at home.
Professional grade technology, now available in your own bathroom. Microneedling stimulates your skin's natural regeneration, minimizes pores, smooths fine lines, and firms the skin, without leaving home.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a modern skin regeneration method that activates your skin's natural repair process. The SkynPen device creates thousands of microchannels in the upper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production, the proteins responsible for firmness, elasticity, and a youthful appearance.
This controlled renewal process makes the skin more elastic and firm, visibly smoother, and better hydrated.
- Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces visible pores and imperfections
- Improves skin firmness and elasticity
- Evens skin tone and enhances radiance
Who is it for? SkynPen is suitable for both mature and young skin, for anyone dealing with enlarged pores, loss of firmness, acne scars, or uneven tone.
The microchannels created during treatment can support better surface absorption of gentle, compatible skincare products applied afterward.
Preparing for your treatment.
Proper skin preparation increases both the safety and the effectiveness of microneedling. Treat it as a ritual, not a rush.
A few days before:
- Avoid intense sun exposure and tanning beds
- Skip chemical peels and microdermabrasion
- Keep up gentle enzymatic exfoliation and pore cleansing
- Do not treat active acne, rashes, or inflammation
For enhanced comfort (optional numbing):
If you have sensitive skin, you can apply a numbing cream such as one containing lidocaine. Follow the timing on your specific product. Most take effect in around 20 minutes, though this varies by formulation. Some need as little as 10 minutes, others up to 45 to 60. Whatever the timing, the cream must be fully removed before you begin. Wipe away the excess, then cleanse the area with saline or a gentle antiseptic, and let it dry completely.
The numbing cream must be completely removed before using the device. Incomplete removal carries a real risk of systemic absorption. Do not rush this step.
Additional tips:
- Stay hydrated. Well-moisturized skin responds more gently and regenerates faster.
- Ensure proper lighting and a clean workspace.
- Perform the treatment in the evening. Your skin will have more time to recover overnight.
Choosing your cartridge.
Each tip type is designed for a different purpose. Match the cartridge to what your skin needs today, not to what you assume is "more advanced."

Speed settings.
As a general guideline, higher speed settings tend to feel more intense, while your depth dial is what actually determines treatment depth. The right combination depends on the facial area, skin thickness, and your experience level.
- Face (general)1–4
- Forehead1–3
- Cheeks2–4
- Nose1–2
- Between eyebrows1–3
- Eye area1–3
- Upper lip area1–2
- Cheekbone area1–3
- Body (general)4–6
Session protocol.
There is no single stopwatch number that works for every face. Instead, work zone by zone and let your skin's response guide you.
Total session time: A full-face session usually takes around 10 to 20 minutes of active device time, spread across zones. If you are using a numbing cream beforehand, add that time on top.
Movement pattern: Work in a grid pattern: glide vertically, then horizontally, then diagonally in both directions across each small section before moving to the next. A common approach is 2 to 4 passes in each direction, but treat that as a starting point, not a rule. Stop a section once the skin shows an even, warm pink flush. Never aim for pinpoint bleeding. That is a sign to ease off, not a sign you are doing it right.
Thin skin directly over bone, keep pressure light
Thicker, more tolerant area
Avoid active breakouts
Work only with a small-diameter cartridge, avoid pressing on cartilage
Work only on taut skin
Never inside the orbital rim
Your skin should look like it has had a little sun, a warm, even pink flush. That is the signal you are done with that zone. Pinpoint bleeding means stop, not push further.
Step-by-step session.
Cleansing and device prep
- Gently cleanse your face with a mild gel or foam cleanser, then pat dry.
- Put on nitrile gloves.
- Disinfect the skin with a 70% alcohol solution, avoiding the eyes. Wait until it is completely dry before continuing, usually somewhere between 30 seconds and a couple of minutes.
- Disinfect the device body with an alcohol-based solution.
- Attach a new, sealed cartridge by inserting it and turning clockwise until it locks into place.
- Spray the tip with alcohol and let it dry completely before starting.
Application
Apply a simple, gentle serum such as hyaluronic acid using a gloved hand or a disinfected brush. This helps the pen glide smoothly. If you feel resistance, add a few more drops.
Device settings
Turn on the device by holding the button beneath the display. It starts in mode 1, the lowest speed. Each press cycles to the next mode.
As a general rule of thumb, cartridges with fewer needles tend to feel more concentrated and precise, while higher speeds tend to feel more intense. Your depth dial is what sets the actual treatment depth. Choose your settings based on the zone you are treating and your own comfort in that moment.
Thin, bony areas like the forehead or temples call for shallower settings and lower speed every time. Fleshier areas like the cheeks can comfortably use the fuller range from your very first session, if your skin tolerates it well.
Do not overdo the depth. Gentleness and precision matter more than intensity.
Technique
Glide the pen slowly across the skin using horizontal, vertical, and diagonal movements. Avoid pressing down. The device should glide smoothly over the surface. In areas with scars or fine lines, you can hold the pen briefly for more focused work. Work zone by zone: apply serum to one area, treat it, then move to the next.
Zone order: Forehead, Cheeks, Nose, Chin and jawline, Eye area (Nano only, avoid the orbital rim).
Do not wash your face or touch it for a few hours after the session. Cartridges are single-use only. Never reuse them.
After the treatment.
Your skin may look slightly red and feel warm. That is a normal reaction. Apply a thin layer of the same serum you used during treatment. Avoid touching or washing your face for a few hours. After about an hour, you can follow up with a soothing or regenerating product containing panthenol, aloe, or peptides.
First 24 to 48 hours:
- Skip makeup
- Avoid saunas, pools, gyms, and direct sun
- Skip retinol, acids, and exfoliating products
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase
From the next day on, stick to gentle, hydrating products, and always wear SPF 50.
Between treatments.
Between full sessions, Nano cartridges are a gentle way to support your skin daily, since they do not break the skin. Use mindfully. More is not better here.
Normal or dry skin
Every 10–14 days
Oily or thicker skin
Every 7–10 days
Sensitive skin
Every 3–4 weeks
Treating too often does not speed up results. Your skin needs time to rebuild collagen.
Cleaning and storage.
After each session, remove the cartridge by turning counter-clockwise, then dispose of it. Never reuse.
Wipe the pen with a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe after every use. Never submerge it in liquid, and avoid spraying alcohol directly into the cartridge port or charging port. Let it dry fully before storing.
Keep the device in a dry, clean spot away from moisture and direct sunlight, out of reach of children. Do not store it with a cartridge attached, and avoid holding it needle-down while cleaning.
Safety and responsible use.
